This drinking vessels are 7 3/8” tall.  A symbol for the caino since the 1950’s, this cowboy is called ‘Last Chance Joe’ and I have seen references to ‘Sparky’ as well.
The brim of his hat is impressed ‘The Nugget,
Sparks
,
Nev.
’
The bottom has ‘Exclusively for JOHN ASCUAGA’S NUGGET,
SPARKS
(EAST RENO),
NEVADA
’ fired onto the surface.
Originally the clothing, eyes and lips was cold painted on the glazed surface.
A few trips into the dish water loosened and peeled off the paint.
I rather like it without the color but it could be repainted with Testor Enamel Model Paints.
There is some light crazing in the glaze on the bottom.
I find no cracks, chips or other damage.
